Digital transformation is not simply about buying new devices or subscribing to new platforms. It is a strategic, cultural, and pedagogical shift that touches every aspect of how educational institutions operate, communicate, and fulfil their mission. This course gives educational leaders, trainers, and policy practitioners the conceptual frameworks, diagnostic tools, and change-management skills to lead that shift with confidence and clarity.
We ground the course in the European DigCompEdu framework — the most widely adopted reference for digital competence in education across the continent — as well as the broader DigComp 2.2 framework for learners. Participants will conduct an honest self-assessment of their current digital competence profile, set development goals, and explore how these frameworks can be used to guide institutional strategy and staff development.
Change management is a thread that runs throughout the programme. Resistance to change, competing priorities, and uneven digital confidence among staff are universal challenges in educational transformation. Through case studies, simulations, and peer-coaching, participants will develop practical skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, coalition-building, and sustaining momentum through the inevitable setbacks of any large-scale change process.
The course concludes with a hands-on strategy workshop in which participants develop a Digital Transformation Roadmap for their own institution. Drawing on all the frameworks and insights of the week, each participant leaves with a concrete, costed, and sequenced plan — grounded in the specific context of their organisation and ready to share with colleagues and leadership teams.
