Young people are not the leaders of tomorrow — they are problem-solvers, change-makers, and innovators today. This course helps youth workers, educators, and community practitioners unlock that potential by giving them the methods, mindsets, and facilitation skills to support young people in tackling real social challenges. Rooted in the social innovation tradition, the programme combines design thinking, project-based learning, and cross-border collaboration.
Participants will learn how to guide youth through the full social innovation cycle: identifying community needs with empathy, generating and prototyping ideas, testing assumptions, iterating solutions, and communicating impact. We draw on leading frameworks from social entrepreneurship and civic technology, adapting them for youth work contexts across formal, non-formal, and informal education.
A distinctive feature of this course is its emphasis on international collaboration. Participants explore how Erasmus+ mobility and partnership projects can serve as powerful vehicles for social innovation, connecting young people across borders and amplifying their ideas. We look at funding landscapes, partnership-building strategies, and best practices from successful youth-led initiatives across Europe.
The course is highly practical, with simulations, case studies, and peer-coaching sessions woven throughout. Participants leave not only with new facilitation tools but with a network of like-minded practitioners from across Europe — a community of practice they can draw on long after the training week is over.
